Minister of Transport & Telecommunications of Bulgaria
Georgi Peev is a civil aviation professional with more than 20 years of experience in the field of civil aviation, strategic management, and international cooperation. Since 2014, he has served as Director General of the Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA). Under his leadership, BULATSA has achieved high standards in the safety and efficiency of air navigation services, reinforcing Bulgaria’s leading role at both the regional and European levels.
Mr Peev represents Bulgaria at the highest levels of European airspace management. He is a member of the Provisional Council of the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) and of the Governing Board of the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking – a key organisation driving modernisation and innovation within the Single European Sky Initiative. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the European Office of the Civil Air Navigation Service Providers Organization (CANSO) and actively participates in the governance of the Danube Functional Airspace Block (DANUBE FAB).
He began his career at BULATSA in 2002 as an air traffic controller. Over the years, he progressed through a number of senior operational and managerial positions, including instructor, Head of Department, and Director of the Air Traffic Control Directorate.
Mr Peev holds a Master of Engineering degree in "Operation of Electronic Aviation Equipment (Air Traffic Controller)" from the Technical University of Sofia. He has also completed specialised professional training at the EUROCONTROL Institute of Air Navigation Services and the German Air Navigation Service Provider.
